'Anaconda' singer Nicki Minaj to host this year's MTV EMAs
Nicki Minaj is hosting this year's MTV EMAs.
The 31-year-old star took to her Instagram account to share the news this morning.
In the photo she posted Nicki is seen wearing a glamorous black gown with gold embellishment around the neckline along with a glitzy crown as she sits on a throne, resting her right hand on one of the awards.
"So excited to announce that I will not only perform, but I have the honorable task of HOSTING this year's MTV European Music Awards!!!!!!! AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! The show will shoot in GLASGOW, SCOTLAND for its 20th Anniversary ON NOVEMBER 9th!!!! Find us@mtvema and Vote at mtvema.com (sic)" she gushed.
Fans were quick to share their delight at their idol taking on the task.
"OMMMGGGGGGGGG (sic)" one posted, while another wrote: "CONGRATULATIONS NIC!!! (sic)"
Nicki herself is in the running for four awards in total.
This year's nominations see Katy Perry in the lead with seven nods, and she is up against Nicki in the Best Female category.
Following close behind is Ariana Grande with six potential wins, including the above nomination, while Pharrell Williams and 5 Seconds of Summer are up for five gongs.
Ahead of the ceremony in Glasgow there is to be a special pre-show live event in Miami, Florida, hosted by ET.
