Mumford And Sons showed their caring side by joining a group of OAPs for lunch - with lead singer Marcus Mumford bringing along new wife Carey Mulligan.

The Brit award winners turned up to the Friday Friends lunch club in Huddersfield and performed some of their hits ahead of a gig in the town at the weekend, the Sun reported.

The band - who helped sweep up the hall and do dishes after lunch - were inspired to call in after Marcus' brother James visited the club last year.

Marcus told the newspaper: "It was wonderful to meet some of Huddersfield's old people and they gave us a really warm welcome to the town."

The kind-hearted band also invited volunteers from the lunch club to watch them play at Greenhead Park the following night.
