Lou Reed is set to be the subject of a BBC Four documentary, Lou Reed Remembered.

The Velvet Underground frontman died in October at the age of 71 and the documentary looking back over his career is due to be shown on December 15, according to Digital Spy.

A BBC statement said: " With the help of friends, fellow musicians, critics and those who have been inspired not only by his music but also by his famously contrary approach to almost everything, the documentary looks at how Reed not only helped to shape a generation but also helped to create a truly alternative, independent rock scene, while also providing New York with its most provocative and potent soundtrack."

The documentary will feature Lou's bandmates Maureen Tucker and Doug Yule, Berlin guitarist Steve Hunter, novelist Paul Auster, photographer Mick Rock, Boy George, Debbie Harry and Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore.

Andy Warhol muse Holly Woodlawn, who is mentioned in the opening lyrics of Walk On The Wild Side, will also appear.
