Motorhead's Lemmy has been so delighted by a bronze of his head which includes his facial warts that he is having it shipped from Wales where it was cast to his home in California.

The Welsh rocker's warts-and-all likeness was made by sculptor Nick Elphick, 38, who comes from Llandudno, where Lemmy worked at the Hotpoint factory before becoming a star.

Nick told the Daily Mirror: "I'm glad he likes it - I hope I've captured one of the most famous faces in the history of rock music. I have always been a fan and we are both from the same part of Wales so this was my way of paying homage to him.

"I'm not in this for fame or glory. It's a stylish representation and I'm quite proud of it and quite happy with it. But the best home for it now is with Lemmy. I hope he gets a lot of pleasure out of it."

Nick said that he worked on the bust while listening to Motorhead and added: "I'm sending the finished version to Lemmy - he wants to put it in his condo on the beach in California."
