Lady Gaga claims she got in the habit of “numbing” her pain with marijuana.

The 27-year-old Dope singer cancelled her Born This Way tour earlier this year to undergo hip surgery.

While recuperating from the procedure Gaga confesses she turned to weed to ease her discomfort.

“It was a habit that eventually occurred when the pain got so bad with the hip,” she told British newspaper The Sun.

“I was just numbing, numbing, numbing myself then sleeping it off, then getting on stage, killing it in pain, then getting off and smoking, smoking, smoking, not knowing what the pain was.

“F**k if I know what hurts the most, you know? I would break the habit and it would sneak back in and I would break it and sneak back in.”

In August Gaga featured in a video for performance artist Marina Abramović in which she walks around nude.

The songstress credits Marina with getting her sober temporarily, as she “cold-turkeyed” for weeks following the intense rehab experience.

“Marina said, ‘OK, you’re coming to my house — no television, no computer, no marijuana, no nothing, no food. For three days, art only. You eat only art’,” Gaga recalled.

“She put me in the woods for three hours blindfolded and said, ‘I need you to find your way home. We will be here silent to make sure you don’t fall off any cliffs’. There were cliffs all around.

“So I was walking and I started to cry because I hadn’t felt so connected to the earth for so long. Just being me, with the forest and the sound of the birds and the running water, but there was nothing but me and my pure talent to save me. I didn’t fall once. I stumbled but I didn’t fall.”
