Kings of the Castle as Slane gig tickets sell out
IT seems we can't get enough of the Kings of Leon.
Tickets for the group's latest summer gig in Ireland sold out in 40 minutes yesterday, and they immediately announced another gig for December.
The Tennessee-based quartet will play next May to mark the 30th anniversary of gigs at the historical venue of Slane Castle.
"The sale of 80,000 tickets in 40 minutes by any band is phenomenal," said Justin Green, spokesman for MCD, promoter of the venue.
"There has been huge interest since we announced the plans last week and as a result the band added the additional date at The O2."
The band has been a regular visitor to Ireland in recent years, twice headlining the Oxegen festival.
The 13,000 tickets for the O2 gig on December 11 will go on sale at Ticketmaster on Tuesday at 9am.
