Kings of Leon promised to celebrate their Grammy win with their mum.
After picking up record of the year for Use Somebody at this year's ceremony, Caleb Followill explained how they were taking their No 1 fan out on the town with them after the show.
"Our mum's here so it's pretty special, we're getting my mum wasted," he laughed.
Speaking backstage he revealed: "I think the best thing about winning Grammys is that it's really the first time that our family gets to see the success of what we've been doing."
"Things have been big everywhere else for a while and now it's starting to happen in America."
It was a double celebration for the Nashville-rooted band who also picked up awards for best rock song and rock performance by a duo or group with vocals.
Nathan Followill explained why he thought the group became more famous outside of America when they were first starting out.
"There's so much music in America, and in England and Europe it's a little more fascinating, our back story, as opposed to a fan in Minnesota who couldn't really give a s*** about three guys from Tennessee who are brothers who play in a band with their cousin!
"I think luckily we stuck around long enough for the music to keep us going," he laughed.
