Keith Richards says rumours he had stopped drinking were 'exaggerated'

Rolling Stone rocker Keith Richards has claimed reports he had stopped drinking were "greatly exaggerated".

The guitarist's exploits, such as allegedly snorting his father's ashes, are stuff of legend - and Keith suggested to Rolling Stone magazine there was more to come.

BBC 6 Music reports him saying: "Listen, the rumours of my sobriety are greatly exaggerated - and we'll leave it at that."

On the possibility of a new Stones album, Keith said: "There's no definite plans, but I can't see any of them stopping. I wouldn't be surprised if we did some recording later this year."

But he said he didn't think the band would be up doing another big stadium tour.

He said: "Maybe we'll search for a different way for the Stones to go back on the road. Maybe not the football stadiums anymore. Maybe something different. You can't go around there in lemon-yellow tights forever."
