Jamie Hewlett: Gorillaz are back
Gorillaz co-creator Jamie Hewlett has confirmed rumours about the band's comeback.
The comic book artist and designer posted portraits of animated Gorillaz members Murdoc and Noodle on Instagram. It comes after his fellow co-creator Damon Albarn hinted about the group's return.
And when asked by a fan if the band would live again, he replied: "Yes Gorillaz returns."
A new album would be the virtual band's fifth record, following The Fall from 2011.
Gorillaz, created in 1998, consisted of four members - 2D, Russel Hobbs, Murdoc Niccals and Noodle. The Grammy-winning quartet had hits in the early 2000s with songs such as Clint Eastwood, Feel Good Inc and Dare.
