Irish band Kodaline set for another US tour
Band reveal Jennifer Lopez's 'American Idol' trailer was 'like a hotel'
CHART-TOPPERS Kodaline have revealed to Independent.ie that they are set for another tour of the US.
The hit Irish band have started work on their next album Around the Corner and will head to Los Angeles to record later this month.
And they will return stateside in October for a second, longer tour of America.
The announcement comes off the back of their successful appearance on hit TV series American Idol in April, when the Dubliners wowed US audiences.
Frontman Steve Garrigan described the experience was “amazing”. While band mate Mark said the best moment of their day on set was bumping into judge Jennifer Lopez backstage.
“We just stood there in silence and in awe,” Mark said.
And proving JLo lives up to her diva reputation, the boys admitted that she had by far the biggest trailer on site.
“It was literally like a hotel,” drummer Vinnie May said.
“We just got a room with a blue couch.”
The boys were in the Irish capital last night to headline the seventh annual FM104 Help a Dublin Child gig in aid of the ISPCC.
Last year’s concert raised €57,500 for the charity.
Speaking about their soaring careers, Steve said the boys have been humbled by the positive reaction from people.
“It’s incredible - we’ve feel so privileged and so lucky, it helps that we’re mates too and have known each other for years,” he said.
