Hozier wears his lucky socks for debut Saturday Night Live appearance
Bray musician Hozier appeared on the popular tv show last night, and judging by the reaction to his performance wearing the superstitious socks paid off.
"When I have a moment to reflect on the last year, it's a bit fucking surreal," Irish musician Hozier told Rolling Stone magazine this week.
And it’s been a particularly big week, in that resoundingly stellar year, for Irish musician Hozier.
First, his debut album reached number one in Ireland, then his upcoming tour dates sold out in minutes on Friday morning.
The 24-year-old singer rounded off the week with a captivating performance on America’s Saturday Night Live tv show.
Ahead of the performance on the country’s most popular entertainment show, Hozier (real name Andrew Byrne) shared a snapshot of his lucky socks.
The 6’4” singer had the studio audience enthralled as he launched into his most famous single, Take Me To Church, accompanied by back up vocalists and a strings section he had enlisted specifically for the show.
He also performed Angel of Small Death & the Codeine Scene later in the episode, introduced by funnywoman Kristen Wiig.
His devout fans, who are growing in their masses by the day, left supportive messages to the humble musician on his Instagram and Twitter pages, applauding his hauntingly beautiful performance:
