Dutch DJ Oliver Heldens has said he will have to set himself some new goals, after topping the UK singles charts with his single Gecko (Overdrive).

The 19-year-old rereleased his track with vocals from British singer-songwriter Becky Hill and knocked X Factor contestant Ella Henderson's debut single Ghost off the top spot i n the last ever singles chart not to count streaming.

Oliver said: "It feels really good. I think it's really special, especially for a Dutchman to get to number one in the UK. And I'm just 19 years old so this is a new thing. I love that.

"Since I was 12 I wanted to be a big DJ and produce my own music and play it on big festival and big stages.

"I had a lot of goals like playing on the main stage of some big festivals, and now I've played there, so now I have to achieve new goals!"

The musician explained his main inspiration for Gecko was he found Deep House music too soft, so he wanted to combine it with old-style House music.

Now Oliver has his sights set on collaborating with more British artists.

He said: "I've always wanted to collaborate with Coldplay, and now I've made an official remix for them, so that's also a big achievement for me.

"And people like Sam Smith or Lorde, I really like that kind of vocals."

Oliver said he had played Creamfield, Global Gathering, T In The Park and SW4 and he said: "I really like the crowds in the UK.

"I want to play a lot of clubs here, because I did it a few times, and it was really awesome. Even the small clubs, the vibe was really good."
