McFly's Harry Judd revealed his Valentine's Day surprise backfired when girlfriend Izzy Johnston thought he had forgotten to get her anything.

The Strictly Come Dancing champion was treated to a new pair of Ralph Lauren gloves to face the cold by the Escala violinist. But as his surprise bouquet of flowers didn't arrive before he left the house, he had to leave her thinking she wasn't getting anything.

Harry revealed: "I woke up to a card and a little present and she was like, 'So where's mine?' And I didn't want to say because I knew the flowers were arriving.

"So I think she thinks I've forgotten and I'm just hoping to get a text any minute or a phone call saying thanks for the flowers."

The McFly drummer, who has been away on the Strictly Come Dancing tour, revealed he and Izzy were planning a romantic night in to celebrate February 14.

Harry and the rest of the band - Tom, Dougie, and Danny - had a very unromantic Valentine's Day, training with the Saracens rugby team.

The 26-year-old drummer, who was a scrum half in his school rugby team, said: "I would like to lie and say I'm not but of course, I'm a little bit intimidated. But I doubt I'm half as intimidated as the other three because I don't think they've ever played rugby."

Tom joked: "I think we'll just send Harry out in front of us. Him and Danny will be our human shields."

McFly are performing at the Aviva Premiership Rugby clash between Saracens and Harlequins at Wembley on Saturday March 31. Tickets are available at
