Ellie Goulding revealed it had been a "crazy journey" as she returned to headline the iTunes Festival for the third time.

The 26 year-old singer, who had her first number one single with Burn, previously played the event at Camden's Roundhouse in 2010 and 2012.

"It's been a crazy journey over the past four years. Thank you!" she told the screaming crowds as she ended her set.

Ellie, who will hit the road for a UK tour in October, kicked off the night with Don't Say A Word and sang hits like Anything Could Happen, Lights, Burn and I Need Your Love.

"I think we should get moving. Let's share the sweaty love - oh, that sounds really bad!" she said, laughing.

She also sang her cover of Elton John's Your Song, which is by "a really great man that I really respect so much". Before playing Holding Up, she said: "This song we played last time we were here. This is crazy. It's been a year, it's gone really, really quickly!"

She revealed she was pleased to be back in the UK: "It's really nice to be back. I've been away in America for so long, it's so good to be back."

After the show, she tweeted: "What an incredible show.. Was a real moment for me x."

Californian girl group Haim - made up of sisters Este, Danielle and Alana Haim - performed at the festival on September 21, ahead of the release of their debut album Days Are Gone on September 30.

Jessie J, Robin Thicke, John Legend and Justin Timberlake will take to the stage in coming days, before Katy Perry closes the month-long festival on September 30.
