Elton John to headline Aids concert
Sir Elton John is to headline a concert celebrating of the life of Aids victim Ryan White.
Museum officials announced Thursday that John will perform during the April 28 event at Butler University in benefit of the Indianapolis Children's Museum and the singer's Aids foundation.
Ryan White was diagnosed with Aids at age 13 after receiving a tainted transfusion of a blood-clotting agent. He died on April 8, 1990, aged 18.
He became the public face of Aids education as he fought to be allowed to attend school. He forged friendships with celebrities including Elton, who performed at his funeral.
Ryan is featured prominently in the museum's Power Of Children: Making A Difference exhibit.
