Coldplay have clinched their seventh number one album as A Head Full Of Dreams soars into the top spot following their Super Bowl performance.

The album was thwarted on release in December by Adele's 25, but their patience has been rewarded just a week after they dazzled on stage alongside Beyonce and Bruno Mars during the game's half-time show.

Their performance has helped singles Adventure Of A Lifetime and their Beyonce collaboration Hymn For The Weekend climb the singles chart too, reaching 11 and 23 respectively.

Adele has climbed two places back up to second place with 25, pushing last week's number one, David Bowie collection Best Of Bowie, down to third.

Justin Bieber comes in fourth while Bowie also takes the last spot in the top five with his final album Blackstar.

Elton John's Wonderful Crazy Night makes the highest debut of the week, going in at number six and scoring him his 31st top 10 album.

In the singles chart, Danish quartet Lukas Graham have triumphantly claimed the number one spot with their first UK release 7 Years, knocking Zayn Malik's much-hyped single Pillowtalk down to second.

Lukas Graham becomes only the third Danish group in the charts' 64-year history to reach the top spot, following in the disco footsteps of Whigfield's Saturday Night in September 1994 and Aqua's Turn Back Time in May 1998.

7 Years racked up combined sales of 105,000, including 3.65 million streams, pushing Malik's first solo offering down to second place and Jonas Blue and Dakota's Fast Car to third.

Completing the top five are Rihanna's Work at four and Shawn Mendes's Stiches at five.
