The Workman's Club, Wellington Quay, Dublin 2, tonight (free)

The Glider gang sail back into the Workman's Club to rock the house with a big bag of tasty alternative tunes that you won't hear anywhere else in town. Glider turntable regular and Indo journalist Tanya Sweeney (she's no relation) returns from Down Under.

The Kitchen, Essex Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, tonight (€20)

This rising star of the house scene has been championed by the seminal Hot Creations label and established a burgeoning imprint of his own called Output Records. The hottest young talent on the block finds time to slot in a show in the Kitchen before jetting off to Ibiza and Dubai.

Twisted Pepper, Middle Abbey Street, Dublin 2, Sunday (€16/€18)

Subject celebrates its sixth birthday with a weekend of special events in Dublin's Twisted Pepper venue. The pick of the crop must surely be an exclusive appearance from that neon green-haired, electro-punk freak who calls himself Green Velvet this Sunday.

Crane Lane Theatre, Phoenix Street, Cork, Sunday (free)

Fadd Jnr offers a brilliant alternative slice of Saturday night every week in Crane Lane. Seeing as it is time for another bank holiday blowout, he mans the decks on Sunday with lots of electro and indie infused pop alongside some evergreen rock anthems.
