Chip off the old block? Oscar legend Day-Lewis's son Gabe releases his first rap video
Irish Oscar-winner Daniel Day-Lewis is an acting inspiration for many, but it seems his son has chosen a different path in life.
Gabe Day, born Gabriel-Kane Day-Lewis, is taking to the stage as none other than a rapper.
The 18-year-old son of the triple Oscar-winner Daniel and his ex-girlfriend Isabelle Adjani has recently released a rap video, entitled ‘Green Auras’.
The singer is a dead ringer for his father in his younger years, his long face and dark eyes reminiscent of Day-Lewis in ‘In The Name of The Father’.
In the bizarre song, Day raps about marijuana, bring bi-polar and what it’s like being the son of renowned actor Daniel.
Gabe Day’s video was shot at his school, New York’s Sarah Lawrence College.
The lyrics include, “Judgin' someone for their dad is just as bad as being racist. Call me Gabe Day and not Gabe Day-Lewis, because if you're trying to call me out I'm ’bout to Gabe Day-Lose-It!
“I know what my name is and I know what fame is.”
Gabe smokes a joint as he sings, “I did too many drugs felt like I was coping on my own when what I needed was a hug.”
Gabe’s mother Adjani (58) dated Day-Lewis (56) for six years before they split in 1996.
The video has picked up over 70,000 hits in just five days.
