Cheryl joins royal for youth awards
Cheryl Cole has praised the achievements of a group of disadvantaged young people recognised for turning their lives around.
The Girls Aloud star and X Factor judge joined the Prince of Wales at a glittering awards ceremony that recognised the achievements of those who have battled against challenges like homelessness or drug addiction.
Celebrate Success was the national final of a competition that combed the country to find those who are thriving after being helped by Charles' charity the Prince's Trust.
The heir to the throne met a number of Trust Ambassadors including Cheryl and TV presenters Steve Jones and Christine Bleakley during the event staged at the Odeon, Leicester Square, in central London.
The singer went on stage to present an award and told the audience: "I'm so happy to be here today, with the Prince's Trust and L'Oreal (Paris) Celebrate Success.
"Coming from my background and growing up where I did, I'm fully aware of the circumstances of these disadvantaged young people and it's an absolute privilege to be here tonight to see such stories and be part of such an amazing evening."
