Cheryl dazzles at movie premiere
Cheryl Cole dazzled as she arrived at the Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of a controversial Algerian movie.
Cole, 26, wore a floor-length white dress with cut-out panels and a thigh-high split as she made her way up the red carpet.
Also attending the screening of Rachid Bouchareb's film Outside The Law were singer Beth Ditto and the festival's Mistress of Ceremony, Kristin Scott Thomas.
Singer and X Factor judge Cole, who has a contract with L'Oreal, one of the festival's sponsors, performed on Tuesday at a party thrown by jewellers de Grisogono at the Hotel du Cap, a few miles from Cannes.
Outside The Law, which attracted hundreds of protesters to the Croisette, focuses on the Algerian struggle for independence from France following the Second World War.
It has sparked controversy over what some perceive to be anti-French sentiments, but Scott Thomas said as she arrived at the screening that the film's subject was an "important" one.
She said: "I'm very interested to see this film indeed, because it's a film about today, it says things that it is important to say now."
Outside The Law is one of 19 films competing for the Palme d'Or at this year's festival.
