Charlotte's solo prowess runs deep

While Ash were busy trying to revolutionise the music world with their A-Z Series, one of their former members was making waves of her own.

Released in 2007, The Deep Blue marked Charlotte Hatherley's arrival as a serious songwriting force, following her departure from the band the previous year and her critically acclaimed debut Grey Will Fade three years earlier. Standing out among the tracklisting was 'Behave' -- a beautifully quirky candidate for best single of the past five years, and one that demands a fresh listen every few months.

She's back with Ash for their upcoming tour -- but should the opportunity arise again, she's well worth a look in her own right.
