Charity choir challenges X Factor
A choir has repeatedly performed a song which it is hoped will challenge the X Factor's domination of the Christmas number one spot.
They delighted people out and about in the capital with renditions of Meet Me In Winter, which will raise money for the homelessness charity Shelter and a local youth centre in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire.
The charity song is released on Monday there is already speculation the song could challenge ITV1's talent show which has won the coveted Christmas number one spot six times in the last seven years.
Last year, musician Katie Elliott sent a tune across the Channel to her friend, lyricist Anthony Marks.
Together they wrote Meet Me in Winter - a simple, uplifting song they hoped people would want to sing together in the dark winter months.
The words echoed a particularly difficult episode Katie had experienced earlier that year.
In February 2010, suffering from bipolar depression, Katie had left her home and family and walked for miles in the snow, eventually ending up on a psychiatric ward in Gloucester.
For many months afterwards she felt too scared to talk about what had happened. But when she finally did start to open up to people in her community, she was overwhelmed by the support and understanding she found, and wanted to do something to thank them.
