Hip hop star Chance The Rapper has apologised to his fans after cancelling shows in Manchester and Dublin.

The rapper was due to perform concerts at the Helix in Dublin and the O2 Apollo in Manchester as part of his Magnificent Colouring World Tour.

He tweeted: " The remainder of the European leg of #magnificentcoloringworldtour is cancelled. I'm deeply sorry and will make it up to you."

Earlier this week Chance, real name Chancellor Johnathan Bennett, hinted he might cut his tour short as he offered a "special prayer" for his close collaborator Kanye West, who has reportedly been hospitalised for sleep deprivation and dehydration, during a performance in BBC 1Xtra's Live Lounge.

During his rendition of All We Got, he said: " I want to extend a special prayer to my big brother Kanye West. I know there's a lot of weird folks out there but you already know that I'm a hundred grand.

"I want to just extend this prayer and this love from all the way in Britain. We might come home early to see this. Happy Thanksgiving."

Concert promoter MCD previously wrote on Facebook: " It is with regret that Chance The Rapper has to cancel the remainder of his European tour due to personal reasons.

"These are two shows at the Helix in Dublin and a show at the Apollo in Manchester. He sends his apologies for this and looks forward to returning to Europe in 2017. Refunds are available from point of purchase."

According to his website he is due to resume his tour in Australia on December 29.
