Celine calls twins Eddy and Nelson
Celine Dion has named her twin sons Eddy and Nelson.
The 42-year-old singer, who gave birth on Saturday, and husband Rene Angelil named their twins boys after Eddy Marnay, who produced the singer's first five records, and Nelson Mandela, Canada's TVA reports.
Celine's rep said of Eddy Marnay: "He was like a father to her. Eddy is a major influence in both Celine and Rene's lives."
Celine met Nelson Madela two years ago while kicking off her world tour in South Africa.
Her rep said: "Rene said that in just the few minutes they were able to spend with him, they were impressed by the human being he is.
"Celine and Rene want their children to be inspired by their names, because they were so inspired by these men."
The singer told French magazine Gala that the couple had been "going a little bit crazy trying to decide" choosing names, as her mother favoured French names while her eldest son, Rene-Charles, was pushing for American ones.
Celine gave birth to the twins on Saturday at St Mary's Medical Centre in West Palm Beach, Florida.
She returned home on Wednesday with her mother and three of her sisters to help with her newly expanded family.
The boys came early; Celine was due to give birth next month but had been taken into hospital as a precaution.
