U2 stand together with families who have lost ones in terrorist related activities across the world.
This was the message Bono gave to concert goers at their concert in Paris tonight.
The Dublin band were supposed to play two concerts in the French capital the night after the Paris terror attacks and had to reschedule their concerts for tonight and tomorrow night instead.
Talking on stage, frontman Bono declared: "Tonight we are all Parisians. The world is from Paris."
The set list U2 played on the second last night on their Innocence + Experience Tour wasn't that different than the set they played in Dublin late last month.
They sang the same songs; they spread the same message. But there was more heart. There was more passion.
In the 20,000 capacity venue, there is room for 6,000 standing spectators. But the whole venue stood throughout.
"We stand together with the families who lost their loved ones in Paris. We stand together with families in San Bernardino.
"We stand together with families in Beirut and Istanbul," Bono said before a rousing chorus of Pride In The Name Of Love.
"We stand together before those with false ideologies of the god they serve," he said.
Before U2 took to the stage, the room began to shake with breeze upon breeze of the Mexican wave.
The masses were inside. They were safe. They were ready. With the shatter of a snare drum the show began, and the main man himself took the stage.
Followed by his bandmates they roused the room into a chorus of Joey Ramone quickly followed by early hit Out of Control, a take of growing up in Dublin.
Singer Patti Smith joined the band for a performance of 'Gloria'. Speculation is growing that Eagles of Death Metal - the Californian band that played the Bataclan concert hall on the night of November 13th - will join U2 tomorrow for the final night of their tour.
