Happy Mondays star Bez has revealed he will not be twisting his melon or anything else during the band's reunion tour - because his hips cannot handle it.
The Celebrity Big Brother winner, who was the group's on-stage dancer, said he will not be busting any moves for their live shows.
Instead he will be acting as a DJ and warm-up man for the gigs by the Hallelujah and Kinky Afro hit-makers.
Bez - whose band's hit Step On included the line "You're twisting my melon, man" - was noted for shaking his maracas with a contorted face.
He said today: "I want all our fans to know that I won't be dancing around the stage with a pair of maracas like in the good old days - cos my hip joints just won't take it any more.
"So instead I'm gonna be DJ-ing and compering the shows, and working the crowd up ready for the boys and Rowetta to blow them all away.
"When I joined this band in 1985 they were so brilliant they blew my mind, and I know it's gonna be the same again. I can't wait."
The band, fronted by Shaun Ryder, is playing a number of shows in May and a number of festivals including V and T In The Park.
Bez added: "It's amazing that our original line-up is back together in 2012.
"It's gonna be just like old times, though hopefully we will be a bit better behaved this time around."
