Azealia Banks bares all for Playboy
Azealia Banks has stripped off for Playboy.
The 23-year-old rapper from Harlem, who has never shied away from controversy, will grace the cover of the magazine's April edition.
"Now I can finally tell you, I'll be on the COVER of @Playboy's April Music Issue!!" she tweeted, alongside an image from the shoot.
She revealed she took inspiration from Catty Noir from Monster High for the shoot, which was shot by photographer Ellen von Unwerth. The Mattel doll franchise has spawned TV specials, a web series, direct-to-DVD films as well as merchandise.
"My April @Playboy Music Issue photoshoot is by @EllenVUnwerth and is on newsstands March 20," she wrote.
"You guys should all know that the inspiration for my @Playboy shoot and my life is CATTY NOIR from monster high."
Azealia becomes the first music star to feature on the front cover of the magazine this decade. She follows in the footsteps of other singers such as Belinda Carlisle, Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, Samantha Fox and La Toya Jackson.
"Grace Jones and Naomi Campbell both did Playboy Covers so you know I was like Hell Yeaaaaaa!!!!!" she added.
