Madonna has leapt to the defence of Adele branding fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld's comments about her weight as "horrible".
The German fashion guru described the Someone Like You star as "a little too fat" during an interview last month.
Madonna told The Sun: "That's horrible. That's ridiculous, that's just the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
"I don't like it when anybody says anything bad about anyone - I don't like it. Adele's a great talent and how much she weighs has nothing to do with it."
Madonna also revealed she is "incredibly anxiety ridden" about her tour later this year, but has no plans to quit music.
She said: "I love music, I love telling stories. So I guess as long as I feel that way I'll keep doing what I'm doing."
Her single, Give Me All Your Luvin', flopped - despite being launched to one of the largest TV audiences in history as she performed it at the US Super Bowl.
After debuting at a lowly 37, the song - the first taste of her new album, MDNA - dropped out of the top 40 completely.
It is one of the worst showings in almost three decades of chart hits for the singer in a career which has generated 13 UK number ones.
