ADELE has announced she will take her new album on tour - which will kick off in Ireland

She announced the tour in a brief message posted to her Twitter account this afternoon.

“Hello, it’s me Adele”, she began before laughing and adding “I can’t even say that anymore”.

“I have been bluffing this whole time and I am so received to finally tell you I am of course having a tour, and I can’t wait to see you all very, very soon.”

The singer will open the tour in Belfast, playing the SSE Arena on February 29th and March 1st.

She will then come to Dublin, playing the 3 Arena on March 4th and 5th.

Tickets will go on sale on December 4th at 9am - however there will be pre-sale tickets available on the singer's website.

Adele’s European dates will include Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Herning, Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Zurich, Lisbon, Barcelona, Verona, Amsterdam, Paris and Antwerp.

Meanwhile the singer has smashed chart records in the UK - sales of her new album 25 have already hit 737,000, meaning it has beaten the previous opening week sales record set by Oasis in 1997 of 696,000.
