Elijah Wood could make a cameo in The Hobbit, it has been rumoured.
The Lord Of The Rings star is in talks to reprise his role as pint-sized Frodo in Peter Jackson's forthcoming prequel, along with Ian McKellen (Gandalf), Andy Serkis (Gollum) and Orlando Bloom (Legolas), Deadline reported.
Filming is due to start in February, with Martin Freeman portraying lead hobbit Bilbo Baggins.
Cate Blanchett will reprise her part as Galadriel while James Nesbitt will play hobbit Bofur.
Filmmaker Peter, who directed all three The Lord Of The Rings films, will make the film in two instalments back-to-back in 3D, telling the story of The Hobbit from screenplays written by himself, Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens and Guillermo del Toro.
Part one is scheduled for release in December 2012, with the second part in December 2013.
