Spike Lee enjoyed working with Samuel L Jackson again

Spike Lee has revealed that his reunion with Samuel L Jackson was "wonderful".

The pair, who previously collaborated in Spike's 1991 drama Jungle Fever, join forces again for the Oldboy remake, which Spike is directing. Samuel sports a bright yellow Mohawk in his small but pivotal role as Chaney.

"We hadn't worked together since Jungle Fever so it was a wonderful reunion," the filmmaker told Total Film.

Spike admitted Samuel had no qualms about his colourful hairstyle.

"Anytime you cast Sam, that's the first thing you say. 'What's his hair gonna be like?' So we came up with something he'd never done before and Sam liked it too. Sam's very particular about how he looks, especially his clothes, and it's great," said the 56-year-old.

Josh Brolin stars as a man who is kidnapped and held in solitary confinement for 20 years in the upcoming remake of Park Chan-wook's Korean thriller.

Josh said: "It's not anything like the original other than it is one take and I've never experienced or seen anything like it."

Oldboy, which also stars Elizabeth Olsen and Sharlto Copley, will be released later this year.
