Will Ferrell: Overpaid and proud
Will Ferrell is proud to have topped Forbes.com's list of Hollywood's most overpaid actors.
The Anchorman star's latest film, animation Megamind, is currently raking in millions of dollars and is riding high at the top of the US box office for a second week in a row, but his past flop Land Of The Lost helped him to the top of Forbes' list.
Will told People: "Isn't that the whole point? I mean, aren't we all striving to be overpaid?
"Apparently I'm living the American dream without even trying."
Forbes calculated Will, 43, was Hollywood's most overpaid actor after he was paid 15 million dollars to star in big screen remake of 70s children's cartoon Land Of The Lost, which had a 100 million dollar budget, and made a loss, earning just 69 million dollars worldwide.
According to the money magazine, for every dollar Will Ferrell was paid, his films returned an average of 3.35 dollars. But they do concede that his last comedy The Other Guys, and Megamind, which were released after the June 1 deadline for their calculations have been big box office earners.
Fellow funnyman Eddie Murphy was second in the list for box office flops Meet Dave and Imagine That, despite the success of the Shrek films.
The list appeared to show that comedy was tough as Seth Rogen and Adam Sandler were also among the top ten.
