Kristen Wiig has revealed she had plenty of wedding experiences to draw on when penning the script for Bridesmaids.
The actress, who plays thirty-something Annie in the film, said she and co-writer Annie Mumolo had sat through their fair share of less-than-perfect nuptials.
"I was bridesmaid at a wedding in Palm Springs, which is like the centre of the sun," she revealed.
"It was August, one in the afternoon and about 115 degrees. People were just cracking open bottles of water to pour over them, kids were dropping like flies.
"I was having an anxiety attack because it was wet between my foot and my shoe and I was like, 'Don't pass out, don't pass out'."
And funnywoman Kristen admitted her awkward love scene with Mad Men's Jon Hamm was in fact very enjoyable to film.
"The first thing I want to say is, 'Oh it was fun', but then I sound like a big pervert," she joked.
"Obviously we laughed through the whole thing but that scene was there to basically set up that my character makes really bad choices."
:: Bridesmaids opens in cinemas on Wednesday, June 22.
