Watts' Diana flops at US box office
Naomi Watts' biopic Diana has made just £40,000 on its opening weekend in the US.
The film, which stars Naomi as the late princess, was released in the UK in September and grossed £4.5 million worldwide, but cost £30 million to make.
Princess Diana was popular in the US so it was expected to be a key market for the film, but according to The Sun, it was screened in just 38 cinemas after being panned by critics.
Naomi, 45, is believed to have taken a pay cut for the film from her usual fee in the hope of winning awards for the role.
Diana concentrates on the final years of the princess' life and her relationships with Dr Hasnat Khan, played by Naveen Andrews, and Dodi Fayed, played by Cas Anvar.
