Ryan Gosling(34) helped a woman propose to her girlfriend of eleven years during what was supposed to be a Q&A for his latest film release.

At SXSW in Texas yesterday, big-hearted Ryan Gosling handed his microphone to a woman in the audience so that she could propose to her long-term partner.

Gosling (34) was at the panel to discuss his directorial debut Lost River in Austin, Texas.

Following a screening of the film, a woman stood up to ask a question during the Q&A portion.

"I think your film was amazing but I'm going to take away from it a second if I can and ask my girlfriend of 11 years if she'll marry me?'", the woman asked.

"We got a marriage proposal everybody! Do you want the mic?" Ryan replied.

"This really wasn't planned" the woman insisted to her beau. "My heart started pounding, I couldn't help it! We've been together 11 years and I want to spend the rest of my life with you".

Ryan and Eva Mendez, who have one child together, clapped the couple as they made it official.

"Congratulations!" Ryan added.

Lost River tells a story of a single mother swept into a dark underworld and a teenage son who discovers a secret underwater town.

The film is to be released first in Russia, in April, with a release to follow in the United States.
