Denzel Washington could soon be taking Flight with Robert Zemeckis.
The American Gangster actor is reported to be starring in the director's new airborne thriller, where he would play a heroic pilot who rescues his passengers, said Los Angeles Times' 24 Frames.
Flight - Robert's first live-action film in more than a decade - is expected to start shooting in the autumn, but is still in early development stages.
A Paramount spokeswoman and the film's producer both declined to comment.
Robert, whose last live-action film was Cast Away with Tom Hanks, previously directed The Polar Express, Beowulf and A Christmas Carol.
Denzel, who was last seen in thriller Unstoppable, has been busy filming another thriller, Safe House, with Ryan Reynolds and is expected to start work on the big-screen adaptation of Robert Ludlum's The Matarese Circle with Tom Cruise.
