Voight excited about Viv film debut
Jon Voight has said he's "excited" about his granddaughter Vivienne Jolie-Pitt's upcoming film debut in Maleficent.
"I'm excited to see how Vivienne did," he told People. "I'll be there. I'm so excited."
"It's just like any grandchild. You're going to be proud of her no matter what she did," he went on.
The Disney movie stars Angelina in the title role as the Sleeping Beauty sorceress and Vivienne plays the young Princess Aurora.
Jon, 75, told how Vivienne's famous parents helped her in her first movie part.
"Apparently when they were doing it, the funny thing was Angie and Brad were off camera trying to get her to respond. You know, telling her, 'You're happy and you're running through the field.' And they followed her with the camera. That's what I heard. That's what I read. I can imagine that," he said.
Angelina, 38, previously revealed that Vivienne was cast because the other child actors were too scared of her in costume.
She told Entertainment Weekly: "The other three and four-year-olds wouldn't come near me. It had to be a child that liked me and wasn't afraid of my horns and my eyes and my claws. So it had to be Viv."
Maleficent also stars Elle Fanning as the older Princess Aurora and Sharlto Copley as King Stefan.
Two more of Angelina and Brad's children, nine-year-old son Pax and eight-year-old daughter Zahara, also have walk-on roles.
