Vanilla Ice is set to star in Adam Sandler's new comedy I Hate You, Dad.

The Wedding Singer star plays a father who moves in with his son and his fiancee, only to become the enemy of his future daughter-in-law, Variety reports.

Rapper Vanilla Ice - who competed in Dancing On Ice and who made his film debut in 1991 in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II - will play an old friend of Adam's character.

Andy Samburg will co-star as the son and Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester is in talks to play his fiancee.

James Caan, who worked with Adam in Bulletproof, is in talks to play the bride-to-be's father.

Sean Anders and John Morris are directing from a screenplay by Wanderlust's David Wain and Ken Marino.

Adam will co-produce the comedy with his Happy Maddison production company and the film is set for release on June 15, 2012.
