Film fans can now visit locations from some of the most popular blockbusters made in the UK as part of a new holiday package.

Car giant Vauxhall has teamed up with Visit Britain to create a so-called "Brit flick pilgrimage", taking in film sets including The Full Monty, The Italian Job, Braveheart and Monty Python And The Holy Grail.

The trip covers more than 1,000 miles across Scotland, Wales and England, with 10 stops at 23 locations from 39 films.

The holiday includes bed and breakfast accommodation in 10 regions and admission fees to tourist attractions used in the films.

Stephanie Lucas from Vauxhall said: "It's amazing the amount of UK locations used in international blockbusters, so we thought we'd pay homage to the best of British through devising a road trip with a twist."

Justin Reid from Visit Britain added: "Film tourism has become very popular in the last few years, with films such as Harry Potter estimated to have brought in £9 million in tourist revenue to Alnwick Castle with a 120 per cent increase in visitors.

"We are thrilled to have worked with Astra to devise a trip that is on trend for our audience."
