Tribeca film programme announced
Sam Shepard's latest film Blackthorn is among the line-up of films to be shown during this year's Tribeca Film Festival, it has been announced.
Blackthorn is a new take on Butch Cassidy, set in Bolivia and directed by Vanilla Sky writer Matheo Gil.
Other films in the programme of the 10th annual Tribeca Film Festival include a documentary on school bullies called The Bully Project, and a documentary following the romance and breakup of musicians Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova following the Oscar-winning film Once.
Director of programming David Kwok called the line-up "one of our most diverse yet."
The Tribeca Film Festival was founded in 2001 by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff. It will take place April 20 to May 1.
The rest of its 2011 slate will be announced next week.
