Tradition continues as Kevin Bacon's daughter revealed as this year's Miss Golden Globe
Kevin Bacon’s daughter is the latest in a string of celebrity offspring to be chosen for Miss Golden Globe 2014.
The Hollywood couple’s 21-year-old daughter Sosie was appointed the coveted annual title by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) Thursday night.
And officials for the glamorous awards ceremony couldn’t be happier with their selection.
“I am delighted to have Sosie Bacon continue the tradition and have her be our 2014 Miss Golden Globe,” HFPA President Theo Kingma said during the announcement, which took place at an awards season kick-off party in West Hollywood.
"As we all know, she comes from a very talented family and this gets us one degree closer to Kevin Bacon.”
As Miss Golden Globe, Sosie is responsible for handing out awards during next year’s event.
Although she thinks the appointment is an absolute honor, Sosie confesses she is terrified of embarrassing herself.
"I'm really excited! Very, very excited,” she told E! News, adding that she’s “absolutely” scared of tripping onstage.
"That's my biggest fear...I'm so bad at walking in heels. Clumsy is an understatement. I trip all the time."
Traditionally the title of Miss or Mister Golden Globe is given to children of Hollywood stars.
Numerous A-list offspring have taken on the position in previous years, including Melanie Griffith and her daughter Dakota Johnson, Freddie Prinze Jr., Laura Dern and Rumer Willis.
In 2013 Michael J. Fox and Tracey Pollan's son Sam was dubbed Mister Golden Globe.
The 71st Golden Globe Awards, which is co-hosted by comedic duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, will be held in Beverly Hills on January 12, 2014.
