Analeigh Tipton has revealed she battled nerves before filming her first sex scene in romantic comedy Two Night Stand.

The 26-year-old actress, who had to strip off for a scene opposite Miles Teller, said she didn't use a body double.

"That was me. That was terrifying," she said. "I didn't mind. I was really nervous and after that whole day was done, I didn't know how to feel. It was my first scene ever like that."

She praised her co-star and the crew for making her feel at ease, saying: "The crew was incredibly amazing - everyone was so professional and so was Miles, to the point where we were able to make jokes and felt comfortable.

"But I definitely had my moment where I went into the bathroom and freaked out a little bit, because there's nothing natural about having to do that. No amount of preparation or psyching yourself up will ever get you ready for that experience."

Analeigh plays Megan Pagano, whose one-night stand with Miles' character Alec gets unexpectedly extended after they get stranded in a snow storm.

She said she and the actor had an instant rapport.

"It was natural from the get go. Miles and I are opposite when it comes to dealing with awkward things," she explained.

"When Miles gets uncomfortable, he makes really bad jokes, sings at the top of his lungs or runs around like a madman. When I get uncomfortable, I do the natural thing and shut down entirely, so we really balance each other out. He would coax me out of it by making fun or telling jokes, and if I see him being uncomfortable, I can calm him down."

Art imitated life when the pair got stuck in a real hurricane during filming.

"It was the middle of the hurricane in New York. The city was shut down for a long time. There was no gas and no electricity, and we couldn't even stay in our apartment so Miles and I had to find different places to stay," she recalled. "It was the most haunting experience - everything in the city was pitch black. It was terrifying."

:: Two Night Stand is in cinemas and on VOD from February 13.
