Charlize Theron has revealed she screamed so much while filming new flick Snow White And The Huntsman that she tore a muscle in her stomach.

The Oscar-winning Monster actress plays evil Queen Ravenna in the upcoming adventure movie, and told MTV that she relished her villainous role.

She said: "That's the tricky thing of the movie: Finding that line that you can walk where you're not going into camp-ville and you're also not going into 'please take me serious Marlon Brando acting-ville'. I did enjoy just screaming at people.

"I screamed so much at people, I tore a stomach muscle, which I had never heard of before."

Charlize, who recently adopted a son, Jackson, said she loved the film's mix of fantasy and realism.

"Of course you have this luxury to then throw back to the fairytale. It's really huge in scale," she added.

"This film is epic and big and the characters, what we tried to do was ground it and give it weight and reality, but there is a small part of this film that has to celebrate the fantastical of it."
