The 48-year-old 007 star spoke with The New Yorker's Nicholas Schmidle in the 90-minute appearance at the arts and politics festival which runs from October 7-9.

Craig’s new look is for his new role starring in upcoming comedy film Logan Lucky, which is set to be released in 2017.

It is being directed by Steven Soderbergh, who was behind the Ocean’s 11 remake and indie drama Sex, Lies, and Videotape, and was adapted from a screenplay by Rebecca Blunt.

He stars alongside Adam Driver, Channing Tatum, Seth MacFarlane and Katherine Heigl in the film about two brothers planning a heist that takes place during a NASCAR event.

There is speculation Craig is set to leave his role as 007, however his co-star Naomie Harris, who plays Moneypenny, wants him to stay.

"Of course I want to be back with Daniel, I started with Daniel. When I was nervous on my first day it was Daniel who calmed my nerves," she told the Press Association.

He's an extraordinary actor and I think he's the best modern Bond that we have had and I desperately want him back. Come back Daniel!"
