Taylor Swift, David Beckham and Samuel L. Jackson join forces for big-budget spy flick
The country singer is believed to have landed a leading role in Matthew Vaughn’s big budget film The Secret Service. The plot sees Taylor’s character kidnapped by a villain played by Samuel L. Jackson, before she manages to escape.
Retired soccer star David will have a cameo in the flick.
“Matthew looked at a number of actresses to play the part before settling on Taylor – apparently she was a natural on the big screen. She’s also someone fresh and unseen in Hollywood terms which was massively appealing,” a source told British newspaper The Mirror. “She is also looking forward to working with David Beckham whom she thinks is amazing looking – but taken.”
Taylor and David won’t be the only celebrities in the film. Sir Elton John and Adele have also been lined up for cameo appearances, while Samuel, Colin Firth and Sir Michael Caine have secured starring roles.
Colin and Michael will play secret agents in the film, which is based on the Mark Millar comic books.
It seems 23-year-old Taylor will have to undergo intensive training for the part.
“She will be required to have some heavy-duty martial arts training in order that her character convincingly kick Samuel L. Jackson’s butt,” the insider added. “It will be Taylor’s biggest challenge to date but she cannot wait.”
The film has been described as a 21st century James Bond and shooting is scheduled to begin next month in London and the south of France.
