Quentin Tarantino has revealed his next project will be a Western.

The award-winning filmmaker tackled the genre with last year's Django Unchained and has confirmed he will be heading to the Old West again with his next movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Quentin, 50, told Tonight Show host Jay Leno: "I haven't told anyone this publicly, but I will say the genre: It's a Western."

"I had so much fun doing Django, and I love Westerns so much that after I taught myself how to make one, it's like 'OK! Let me make another one now that I know what I'm doing'," he added.

The director said the new film will not be a sequel to Django, which starred Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington and Samuel L Jackson, and won Quentin a screenwriting Oscar.
