SXSW picks Carrey movie as opener
Jim Carrey's new comedy The Incredible Burt Wonderstone is set to receive its world premiere at the South By Southwest festival in Texas.
The film, which also stars Steve Carell and Steve Buscemi, will have its opening night on March 8 after it was selected to open the Austin event.
The two Steves play Las Vegas magicians facing competition from a "guerilla street magician", played by funnyman Jim.
Now in its 20th year, the festival will also be showing Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers, the Napster documentary Downloaded, Joe Swanberg's comedy Drinking Buddies, Fede Alvarez's Evil Dead, Beatles' documentary Good Ol' Freda and UK film Everyone's Going To Die.
SXSW's Janet Pierson told Variety: "Everyone knows that we like to have a good time at SXSW, and our 20th year is already well on track with smart, stylish and highly entertaining work
"Though this is just a taste of what SXSW 2013 will have to offer, what better way to get the party started than with The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, which had us laughing our heads off, despite an 8am Monday viewing."
