Stiller lights up for Current War
Ben Stiller is reportedly considering directing period drama The Current War.
The Zoolander star is said to be "circling" to take the reins on the film alongside other directors, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Weinstein Company is already on board to produce and finance the movie, which takes place in the late 1880s and features the high-profile battle between power titans Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse over the distribution of electricity.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov, who bought the script from Michael Mitnick in 2012, was previously attached to direct, but will now produce it instead.
Ben - who will next star in drama The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty, which he also directed - is an accomplished filmmaker, having directed films such as Reality Bites, Zoolander and Tropic Thunder.
The 47-year-old is also thinking about the prospect of directing Robert Downey Jr in an upcoming new version of Pinocchio, and is developing the Zoolander sequel and Night At The Museum 3.
