Stars turn out to honour Richardson
Lady Gaga, Meryl Streep and Sigourney Weaver were among the stars who braved a New York snowstorm to support Natasha Richardson's favourite charity.
Brooke Shields and Natasha's mother Vanessa Redgrave also attended the Amfar gala to raise money to fight HIV/Aids and honour the actress, who died in a skiing accident last March.
Natasha became a champion for HIV/Aids research after her father, director Tony Richardson, died of it in 1991.
Vanessa described Natasha's advocacy as her life's mission.
Brooke was overcome with emotion on the red carpet and struggled to articulate her feelings for her friend, whom she described as a beautiful woman and brilliant mother.
Meryl sang an Irish number, and Lady Gaga performed Future Love while covered in pearls and white body paint.
