Snyder: No Viggo for Superman movie
Viggo Mortensen will not be appearing in Superman: Man Of Steel, Zack Snyder has revealed.
The Danish-American actor had been rumoured to be in the running for the role of villain General Zod for the new instalment in the superhero franchise, but the director has shot down those stories.
"Viggo is not going to be in the movie, let's say that right now. I can clear that up," Zack told Latino Review.
While the filmmaker remained quiet over various details, including the characters of Lois Lane and Lex Luthor, he said the film is currently in pre-production.
"We're just in pre-production right now. We're working every day trying to get it together and it's looking awesome and we are going to probably start shooting at the end of the summer," he added.
Henry Cavill will star as the superhero in Superman: Man Of Steel, due to hit cinemas in 2012, alongside Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as his adoptive parents.
